Richard grew up in Essex but he has spent time in the Midlands, Wales, and St. Helena Island, South Atlantic Ocean. Richard originally trained as a primary school teacher, with schools-work continuing to form part of his ministry.  Following ordination training ('vicar school') at Ridley Hall, Cambridge, Richard held a curacy post at St. Stephen’s Church, Harlow. Richard is married to Karen and they have two children. He enjoys a variety of music, football, real ale, and photography.
