Welcome to St Peter's !
At St. Peter’s Church, you will receive a very warm welcome. St. Peter’s is a holy, homely and friendly place where you will find a lively, mixed age church family.
We have two services every Sunday. The service at 9.15am, is either a Family Communion with Sunday school or, on the 4th Sunday, a family service without Communion. At 5pm every Sunday except the 4th Sunday we have Evening Prayer, which is a more traditional and contemplative service in the Colte Chapel. On the 4th Sunday there is a service of Holy Communion at 5pm. Refreshments are served in the church hall after every Sunday service, and this is an ideal opportunity to get to know people better.
For those who want to take time out in a busy week to pray or to have a quiet reflective time, we hold a prayer service every Thursday at 8.30am and Prayers at eventide once a month on a Wednesday evening at 8.
15pm.
Our Sunday school, which is continuing to grow, caters for Children age 5-11,and there is also a crèche for younger children when needed.
We would love to see you. Everyone is welcome. Just come as you are, and join us on God’s journey for all here in Roydon and elsewhere.
Letter from the Parish Priest - July 2010
Four hundred years ago, a youngster growing up in Roydon would probably spend a lifetime living and working within the parish boundary. Only those with the financial means and an adventurous few would travel to London, let alone distant places. What changes we’ve seen, even in our own lifetimes!
St Peter’s Flower Festival at the August Bank Holiday weekend traces the earliest of journeys, the extraordinary feats of some famous explorers, courageous migrants seeking new lives, exotic trade routes, the development of mass travel and the most recent ventures beyond our own planet. more....
